Dates:
May - June 2003
The Pen and Brush is a private art
club with a long and illustrious history.
For this event they are having two
receptions and I cordially invite you to attend one
or both of them.
The club is located in a landmarked
brownstone at 16 East 10th Street, between 5th Avenue
and University Place, New York City. Events here are
inevitably civilized, but no need to wear your white
gloves!
Here are the times:
Saturday, May 24 from 4:00
– 6:00 PM
Wednesday, June 11 from
5:00 – 6:30 PM
For the exhibit I am showing two
pieces. One is a photograph of my niece, Erica, at
age 16. This picture often puzzles people, because
it is hard to tell at first glance if it is a painting
or a photograph. I think this is because it is a photo
of her standing before a painting, which she artfully
complements. The other picture is a collage of a 50’s
style room interior, called Hi Fi. It is
in relief and framed in a box frame, somewhat like
a stage set design.
So, I will be there both dates and
hope to see you! |
